The Year in Review: 12 Lessons from 2024 I’ll Be Taking into 2025
365 days later... *Spongebob voice*
Came in like a wrecking ball, going out like a firework.
If you let people walk over you, they’ll tap-dance on your boundaries. Some might even choreograph an encore.
The grind culture prophets who brag about sleepless nights and broken relationships in the name of success? Watch them closely—they’re often running on empty.
Before you dismiss therapy with an eye roll, try it. Your friends can’t always carry your weight, and your parents never had this kind of help to lean on.
Fixing your health doesn’t need a grand overhaul. Sleep like it’s sacred, drink water like it’s the secret to life (still figuring that one out), and stretch— it’s the easiest gift you can give your body.
Stuck? Walk. Confused? Walk. Pissed off? Walk. WALK before you TALK, especially when you’re angry. Your words will thank you later.
Pour your heart into people, but when they show you who they are—good or bad—believe them the first time.
Want to start something? Start now. A tiny step beats sitting in ‘planning mode’ for months. Outsmart the procrastinator in you before they settle in.
Compliments won’t pay your rent, and criticisms won’t bury you. Keep your head level, dream bigger, and don’t flinch when you hit the ground.
You don’t need a new circle; you need to call your old friends. They’re waiting to hear your voice, not just see your updates.
Take your parents out. Order that overpriced latte they can’t pronounce. Show them your world, one bite, laugh, and story at a time.
Fix that cold war with your sibling. Call them for no reason. Plan trips for all the reasons. Rewatch the dumb shows you loved as kids. Love them in ways that aren’t cliché but feel real.
Stop filling every moment with noise. Silence isn't scary; it's necessary. Sit with your thoughts, your fears, your dreams. Sit with your thoughts, your fears, your dreams. Be kind, but don’t sugarcoat the truth.
"Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year."
— Ralph Waldo Emerson
So...same time, next year?

I left my home for this. My parents were upset. My friends were confused. Everyone was doubtful, but I was sure.
